This is a follow-up article to the long and detailed overview of plagiary published in the December 17, , Chronicle. See previous Article Alert. It discusses the punishments meted out to the guilty: two academics were fired, one is not allowed to teach, and one was not disciplined despite a committee's assessment that the person was guilty. The title is the cover headline and it fairly summarizes six brief articles that indicate that ethical concerns have made life somewhat more difficult for medical researchers, whose goals are usually admirable, but who may be willing to sacrifice someone along the way.
